Slight wobble on grooved/concrete roads.
I got a 2013 550i two months ago and I've just noticed a slight wobble when I drive on grooved pavement (like they do before they repave) or on concrete (which also has a slight groove). However, some grooved pavement was fine. It feels kind of like I'm on train tracks, like an ever so small turn to the side. It is not vibrating, but it does only do it at high speed (>75mph). It is very slight and I've only noticed it three times this past weekend on a road trip (700 miles) and never on blacktop
I did replace the tires last week, being a lease and making frequent trips to NYC, it seemed like a good idea (had the goodyear ls2). I put on the new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 (245/40ZR19) so I'm wondering if I am somehow tracking the grooves or something. They were not road-force balanced and the alignment was not checked either, but it seems fine. Should I do either of those? Alignment on a new car seemed kinda pointless and it doesn't seem like a balance issue, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is. |

Sounds normal to me. My 550 does this and my motorcycles have all done this on that type of surface. I've even found that the finished road that is grooved concrete does the same thing.
