Frobius said he tried that and it did not work for him, best to buy a larger stick.

32gb worked for Frobius, but the maps are that size already so best to go for a 64gb to future proof yourself.

Ok thanks, so the map is downloading, once it's on my computer, should I un-zip it then grab it all and dump it onto the USB?. Thanks again.
Also I have a code from BMW Connected drive for the 2016-2 map they had, can I use that same code for uploading into the car or does the car see it and do it anyway?.

Yes you need to upzip it into a folder and one of the files are instructions on what is needed on the USB stick.

When I update my car it seems to know that I have a valid 3 year code and just proceeds with the update.

How odd. Can someone check how big their maps are when put on the USB stick? Mine were 29.4Gb and my memory stick had 29.9gb available.

It's just the 1,2,3&4 folders as well as the .cfg, .pkg and .sig files you need on the stick.

You should end up with a folder like I have attached.

The files for the stick are all all in the top folder highlighted.

But the contents are all wrong if it is those files you list above!!

Did you have the other files such as the PDF and map layout image?
