With the f30 headlights touching the kidneys as well as the upcoming x5, and 4er, I figured the f10 would get a similar treatment at refresh...

I think the F10 front end refresh will make it look more like the F07.

Would have loved to have the LED headlights on my M5. Have them on the X6 and love them. Oh well. I see an M6GC in my future anyway. Maybe the GC refresh, whatever that may entail.

All good.

When will there be an entire new model? I'd like to keep my 2012 for 8-10 years without it looking too dated. E60s still looks pretty good to me.

Should be 2017. BMW seem to use a 7 year life cycle.

Better hope to get a chance to sit in one, so you can get over your delusion. M5 F10 is one of the best sounding cars BMW has produced up to date

thats the trick... the current gen looks amazing. just needs more power, better steering. But its the refresh that makes people buy again, so they have to change look.

I was happy to see the z4 wasn't changed as much as I thought it might look...

You mean F06, as in the 6GC, right? If so, I also agree as it doesn't seem to be that major of a change.

No, F07 aka 5GT. The nose has a taper to it, where the hood meets the headlights. I think the F10 LCI will adopt a very similar pointed taper.

535 could use 340hp. A 4100 lb car needs more power. Same hp for a 3500 lb 335i?

Isn't it great when you know that the F10 that you are driving now has shitty steering feel (and acknowledged by BMW!) and probably have to live with it unless you change to the LCI?

Thanks BMW.

I think it will have upgraded steering wheel as well as possibly finally having the active side bolsters...wishful thinking maybe?

There is no active side bolsters on M5 F10, only manually adjusting ones. Vital missing feature

If that were only the problem,

F10 has shitty steering (seemly got worse after software update),
The auto headlights come on in broad daylight - everyday
Auto Start/Stop stalls the car and puts the parking break on half the time
The key won't start the car for 30 seconds if I use the key to open the trunk first
The air ducts in luxury seating package make the driver's seat squeak
The plastic trim below the radio knobs isn't secured and wiggles when I press radio buttons
The media doc for the iPhone stops responding (weekly) and needs to be removed to get working again
The transmission shifts are way too rough in Sport / Normal mode.

I'm aware of the other problems and I'm trying my best to let them go. You just HAD to dig them up eh?

Sigh, cheers

I beg to differ. With the loss of the regular sports back, the car lacks a nicer steering wheel, and the base wheels are awful compared the the 19s that used to come on the Sport Pack.

The car has lost its edge. Yes, its sells like hot cakes, but the reality is unless you want M sport, its not nearly as sporty as the E60 was in its hey day.

The only thing I am concerned about is the redesign of the front and rear fascia. Its perfect in my eyes. It does make me think if there were a way to equip the car with sport steering wheel, black headliner, sport seats and comfort seats i'd order now regardless of LED headlights ect.

But the steering... if its being reengineered to be sportier and more communicative... well then we have to wait for that alone. The 6 series GT is getting praise for being what the 5 series should have been at the get go.

Yes...I am very well aware that there is no active side bolsters on the F10 M5. However, we are talking about changes for the LCI and I believe this could be one of those changes that we will see in the F10 LCI M5
