moving from 535i to 335is
I am thinking about going back to 3 series. Precisely from 2011 335i to 2011 335is with DCT with 10k in absolutely perfect condition.335is does not have a navigation and of course lacks luxurious look inside, but I miss performance of my 2007 335i.I am so aware ,that there are always trade offs.I am getting almost even trade plus dealer fees.My concern is which car is going to have faster depreciation.I know that 335 is is more unique car, what most of the time slows down depreciation, just like with M3.

unless the car is very rare, the value will drop about half in 3 years no matter which model BMW it is. Options will only make it a few grand difference. My z4 35is lost 15k in just 10 months.

I went from an E90 to F10. Test drove a F30. It /felt cheap, My opinion is that the E90 is better than a F30. As far as 535 to 335. The step down is not form me. The F10 is more exclusive and feels like an adult car instead of a teenager's car. The 2011 you are looking at is already 1 body style behind. I seed it depreciating faster than an f10.
Just some thoughts., Martin

I drove the 328ix in Germany and Austria. We enjoyed it a lot. The car overall size and cabin dimensions are similar to my 2001 530i which was a great car.

I think you might like the E-92. The luxurious interior differences (unless you count size as a luxury) aren't as huge as you'd expect. The classy tilt out door storage, the much nicer plastic trim on the seat base and the seatbelt assistant, wood around the rear vents are some things I know I am going to miss from mine after next week. Good luck in which ever choice you go with!

I just went from a F10 535i M-Sport to an E90 M3. I considered a 335is but chose to get the M3 once I found one that fit the bill. I had an E90 335i with Dinan Stage II before the 535i and ultimately regretted getting the 5 series after a few weeks. I enjoyed the luxury and comfort of the 5 but always missed the sporty feel of a smaller car. While the 335i was fun, less than 30 seconds in the M3 made up mind. Drive one and you'll be hooked...do it, do it, do it!!!

In my search for a sporty daily driver I test drove quite a few and the only one that brought a big smile on my face was the cayman s.I drove audis,BMW M5 and finally the Porsche.Give it a try if you are interested in the stick shift. The stick shift in porsche was a generation ahead of what bmw has to offer.

335is
I've had a bunch of Bimmers including M3, a 2011 335is with Cobb and now a 2013 550i with BMS coming. If you want hard edged sports handling, great acceleration and tuning capability get the 335is. Despite all naysayers the DCT works at least as good as Porsche , you get a real back seat for adults and it folds down. Neat huh! The 550i runs like a bear but is softer and great for sports cruising. IMHO
