Big difference when I drove at a BMW testing day. they had us drive through a slalom course with it on normal and again on sport +. It certainly convinced me to order that option.

The biggest difference between the 4 settings (Comfort, Normal, Sport, Sport+) is between Normal and Sport. I don't notice a huge difference between Comfort and Normal. The difference between Sport and Sport+ is that it automatically turns on DTC.

Normal to Sport both tightens up the chasis and significantly changes the throttle response. Although you can configure to Sport mode to not do one or both of those things.

You can definitely tell the difference in the throttle response and tranny selection. Gear selection is held longer and shifts on an instant when pushed. Also, the stiffness is felt immediately after the switch. I drove the 740 & 750 with this (the dealer let me drive it for a week while I was waiting for my 528) and the 535 as a test drive. The screen displays the changes and highlights what take effect with different modes. Pretty cool.

Sport and the + mode can be differentiated when driven very hard, I would guess. I didn't push the loaner 7s too hard. I thought that tossing a 7 series around curves was not very cool. I did drive them 200km+ on straightaways all day long though. Very smooth I must say.

Sport+ in the F10, modifies the DSC setting, allowing a bit more slip to the rear wheels. Remember the basic Dynamic Drive Control, DDC (without the active suspension) has a Sport+ setting, so no dampers to stiffen, in that case it clearly has nothing to do with ride/suspension settings.

Come on... unless you're james bond you have no business tossing a 7 around town.

I so wanted to be driven around in... back seat was awesome.
