I was just checking out the car online thinking with that amount of torque and HP, shouldn't this car be faster???

It's hard to tell
New 7 gets to 60mph in 5.2 while wearing 400lb less than GT
However, X6 with this engine somehow managed 5.0 - 5.1 wheighing 200lb more
5.4 is about right for this car, but who knows, this new 8-speed might help with times quite a bit

the weight slows it down, they say for every 100lbs dropped its a 10hp gain

I test drove it (and immediately ordered). The car does not feel fast while driving it. But watching the speed odometer tells a different story. It does not shift or drive like any BMW that I have ever owned and the acceleration is consistent, smooth and impressive. I don't think this car is going to be taking on any of the M class cars for speed, but it is no slouch. I think this car falls into it's own category something like, I need a SUV but would not be caught dead driving one. And the performance of this car is a bonus....

Should correct and say we going to order, but luckily the dealer found the car we wanted, with every package available & correct color sitting in NJ (just off the ship). We have been waiting for two weeks for the car to be delivered (killing us), but the last snow storm seems to have put a delay on everything...

I drove it and to me it felt like it was pulling a boat.
