Why hardly any titanium silver cars?
Why is it there are hardly any F10 cars in titanium silver? Do people not feel it looks good in silver or is it because silver has generally been so popular over the years that people are avoiding it now?
Thanks

Don't know why F10 is not popular in silver.....personally I have ordered my F11 in this colour because I think it really suits the touring......however if I was having a saloon I don,t think I would go for silver (somehow to my eyes this colour does not suit the saloon so much as the touring) .....IF I was having Saloon I think would go for CBlack or space grey. Colour is a very subjective thing but your right silver does not seem to be a popular choice for F10?

In Germany there is an image problem: silver is the ultimate grandpa/grandma colour.
But hey, a silver f10/f11 with M sport pack looks great so who cares?

I did seriously consider it along with Space Grey and Sophisto Grey. I think it's... okay, but run of the mill in a way, y'know - i.e. it's a 2010 BMW, not a 2000 Honda. Also yes, it's one of the old school colours so people tend to try new things these days. Ultimately, I think Space Grey is, well, just better. I went for Sophisto Grey however ;-)

In Belgium, it's also Grandpap's color of choice, but I like it on a F10 as well, so if you like it, that the most important. I choose Sophisto Grau for mine...

Colors run in cycles. White is the new hot color for BMW's in the US. It is number 1 for this current year.

Silver is a tremendously popular color in the U.S. Ive always liked silver cars, my e60 was white and over the last 3 years it seems like every single BMW I see was white or black. So I ordered my F10 silver in part because I dont expect to see many driving around.

Old folks' colors in the US run to gold and maroon — fall colors, if you will. Silver has been very popular, which is a reason for some people to avoid it. Generally, color has not been a BMW strength. Same goes for Mercedes. Audi has better colors.

I see that cars in Canada are stuck with the ugly orange side reflectors like we have south of the border. I am either going to get mine painted silver or hope that someone (Bavauto) markets a clear version.

Funny you should say that. I have bought silver cars for more years than I can remember. However, for my 550i, I have ordered white. Nothing wrong with silver but, this time round, I just preferred white Roger |

In Canada ... because of messy winter weather, silver seems to be the lazy man's way of not washing the car (that often) and yet the dirt does not show that clearly.

Both my wife and I are classic silver. We aren't young but aren't old (low 40s). It seems to stand the test of time, looks proper in different situations, and yes, sometimes allows you to take longer between cleanings. I pick up my 550i on Jan 6 and you know the pics will be posted shortly thereafter.

Rejoice Titanium Silver owners! Dupont's annual car color report states that Silver has returned again to the top as "The world's most popular car color". Black is a close second followed by white and grey. Silver has also been #1 eight out of the last nine years.
