525d service intervals
So my car had it's first service, at 13,000 mile and 8 months old, I purchased it at 23,000 miles and it said it was due at 26,000 miles. I took it into my dealer and said there must be something wrong if it is asking for it's services so soon.
There reply to this was that the issue was due to driving style which had caused it to need servicing early, as I had only done a handful of mile at this stage I couldn't really argue. So I booked the car in for service at the end of Jan when it had reached the 26,000 mile having driven it myself for a little over 3,000 gently driven miles. When I went to pick the car up the first thing I checked was when the next service was due and lo and behold the car says 2 years or 13,000 miles. I immediately complained to my service adviser who spoke to the service manager and he has said he will take it up with BMW technical service. My assumption is that there must be something wrong with the CBS system when it is asking for a service at 13,000 miles regardless of driving style. However, I desperately need some evidence to back this up and was wondering if there are any f10/f11 525d (2.0 twin turbo version) who could share their service information.

This is normal behaviour. The countdown is dynamic. This means that it will eventually adjust itself based on your driving style.
My car initially had 30 000 km oil service intervals. But on one occation it has been just 17 000 km between oil changes. High average fuel consumption seems to play a role. I have the 3.0 litre version however. Last edited by bimmertaxi; 02-02-2014 at 09:42 AM.. Reason: Engine difference |

It'll adjust on its own. It needs to show you a date, so it uses historical information to predict the date. If you drive differently than the previous owner, it'll adjust.
