how do you adjust parking mirror?
Sorry if this a dumb question but how do you adjust the right side mirror when parking. The mirror automatically adjust angel to see the curve easer but its way too low. If I move the switch to the right. The mirror would go back to normal driving position. And if I leave the switch in the right position. The mirrors will not auto adjust when parking.
Sorry if my post sounds confusing. Last edited by Black5; 04-15-2014 at 08:52 PM.. |

Coding can adjust how much the mirror tilts down when reverse is engaged. I had my car coded to tilt down at the maximum angle.

Auto parking mirror is only available with the auto retrieving options, the mirrors retrieve when you press the lock in your key couple of seconds longer, if the option not in your car I guess codding maybe the solution, if you do have it you just have to put the Left Right mirror switch on the passenger side, the switch on your door, when you engage the reverse gear, the mirror points down automatically.

This commenter seems to lump motorized mirror folding together with the reverse-tilt function. As far as I know they are independent functions, and the folding is automatic in some markets but switch-operated only in others (like the U.S.). I don't know about codding -- never fished myself. Coddling won't help at all if my experience is any guide. |

[QUOTE=raleedy;15794343]This is backwards -- even, I would guess, for Ireland, as far as the reverse-dip function is concerned. With the passenger mirror selected on the switch, the passenger side mirror does NOT tilt when reverse is engaged; when the driver side mirror is selected, the passenger's mirror DOES tilt down.
First of all I find your choice of words pretty alarming when commenting on Ireland, pretty insulting, but when I double check the source of the comment, maybe you knowledge of Ireland is limited to the couple of studios down south that represent your education on the world we live in! I am from the East Cost with half of my life spent in Europe, and frankly when down to cars and tech, this part of the world is simply light years ahead, after all we are disputing a European car. Going back to the topic, my explanation was from experience with my last 2 cars, this time around I made sure the mirror Auto tilting option was selected in my order, for my parking function to be back on, after going missing my previous E60, the word you should use is not backward but business, BMW package functions in one to save money in production and supply chain, hence one only available with the other one on order, very common and by far not the worst, VW Passats manage to package CD changer with chrome window surrounds to cut costs when producing the Passat! |

^^^ This is correct at least for my car that is. |

[QUOTE=raleedy;15800121]OMG ... forget the debate ... Is his computer screwed up, and tilting too far ... or is it his perception .... why don't you take a picture with the vehicle in reverse, so we can see how low it is going. Also, take a picture of the view out of the mirror in park for comparison.

[QUOTE=raleedy;15800121]Sincere apologies raleedy, it was a late midnight response, and you spot one on having to calm down! I never picked up on the right/left driving link you making with parking mirrors! so again apologies for jumping into conclusions! On the topic of auto parking mirror, it was missing from my ex E60 while was on our E90 3 series, and when I researched the reasons with the dealer and this form back with both 2008 & 2009 E models it was down to not having the auto folding option in the car, I even checked with the dealer if a retrofit of the option was available! I also believe the same applies for the F models, my wife didn’t bother with auto folding option with her F25 X3 hence the parking function no longer possible, while with my F10 I made sure the folding auto was in the order, and of course the parking now on with simply leaving the setup door switch on set for the passenger side mirror, now of course this is what applies to this side of the Atlantic.

It tilts down from the position you have your mirror set to. And it tilts down by a certain degree. 1) Either adjust the normal position to achieve the tilted position you'd be comfortable with or 2) have it coded to increase/ decrease the tilt. I can code that and a few other things for you (remotely). - |

I always have this feature turned off for the same reason. With my properly adjusted mirror I have a better view when reversing than the straight-down reversing position affords. Neat idea,poor execution.

ASP_BORDSTEINAUTOMATIK_DELTA: 3A ==> 4B or 5A for increased vertical tilt.
Mirror will only tilt if switch on driver's side. |

Personally i like the tilt down feature, i can see the curb or the parking lot divider lines perfectly! My only complaint is its too slow and sounds like an old style gear drive...ha
My mirrors dont fold if i press the lock button a little longer, like the previous poster said..would be nice?
