Can't see how this could be used

Came across this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stainless-...item4d238e0841

But I can't see how something like that could fit in an F10, without the tips protruding too far out?

I've not done any conversions myself, not sure if anyone with more knowledge/experience might be able to comment?

Cheers,

Marcus

If you will replace the OEM catback (or just axleback aka mufflers) with something branded, you wouldn't worry about the tips at all. In case you keep the stock one just replacing the tips, the option you show will also make no problem: this set of tips mean the shop will cut the stock single tip at each side that deep to adjust the edge properly against your diffuser.

For your reference, see how the Supersprint with its long tips has been installed on F10, and the M5-style diffuser has very much covered the tips with its deep side flanges.

Thanks for reply Valery.BMW.

Understood, also with the M5 deep side flanges.

Been reading other threads, it's obvious people are going these splitter style tips, but just cutting existing their non M5 diffusers to fit (as stock 535i/535d pipes don't centre to the M5 diffuser outlets):

(The hunt is on for a pipe with a side pipe coming off it, to fit the above setup).

Marcus, you are right: the "Y-style" tips are somehow popular because of the cheapest cost of the total conversion. This way you keep unaffected the most expensive part which is the OEM exhaust. And it is OK because what you achieve is the much better look at the very low cost and effort. Good examples are here: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=921786

For the full system I've made a separate post today: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthre...8#post16822648 You may find some interesting details about the full catback retrofit.

Cheers,
Valery
