Garage List
Here in OZ BMW states:

City 6.7 litres / 100km
Highway 4.9-5.0 litres / 100 km

If that helps.

Yeah, I am currently averaging at 7.5-8.0 l/100 km (30-35 mpg US), in a very mixed driving combination (city, highway, backroads, Sport mode, Eco Pro mode)...

The engine is amazing.

My '12 X5d is getting about 25 mpg at mixed speeds while going to/from work. I got to 29 mpg on long highway trips doing about 70 mph. If you can stand being in the car that long, you can drive, on the highway, about 600 miles on one tank of gas.

Simple: Baby Boomers look at diesels as strange foreign cars which shoot tree killing Black Death smoke out of a dirty tailpipe. Their first impressions of diesels will never change.

Isn't it weird they call it 535d in the states, when it really is the 530d?

Because diesel fuel is even more costly than premium fuel. If regular fuel was more expensive than diesel as it is in many parts of the world diesels would be more prevalent. That being said I would expect the number of diesels in the US to increase over the coming years.

My journey to work is mostly stop/start and covers around 15 miles, on average my MPG is about 35/37. On the motorway driving at about 70/75 Mph, my consumption is around 43....I don`t bother using "Eco" drive.

Hope this helps........
