F10 535 FMIC insights

http://www.wagner-tuning.com/-NEW--C...er-_p_196.html

Has anyone thought about getting this kit or has any insights debating about this mod, idk if it is worth it without a turbo upgrade.
Any insight would be great found out through the people who have been assisting with my modding.

Found this awhile back while surfing for 535 upgrades. Looks to be straight swap! Not sure what benefits you'll get when your still running stock snails?

If you are lives in a hot climate area, it will help in cooling down the hot air.
I just checked the ETA, it is currently on back order for about 3-4 weeks.

I'm running a lot of boost around 20psi on my tune with stock snail-trails. I get pull after pull with no derogation in performance with the OEM fmic. I live in LA average outsides temps 75-80 on any given day so maybe in areas where average is 90-100 you would benefit.

I've been looking into an intercooler upgrade as well. I'm curious to know the gains as well because I don't plan to upgrade the stock turbos.

Well the only way we would know is if we took IAT's from both OEM and the Wagner FMIC. If there was a 10-20 degree drop it would benefit in terms of horses.

Does RGSport plan to stock this or another brand of intercooler for the F10 535i? I'm interested in learning more about what an aftermarket intercooler can do for this car.

Yea, we are currently updating the listing for Wagner Tuning products as they recently changes the pricing structure and part numbers.
Unfortunately for now, Evolution Racewerks doesn't have plan to produce one.

With an intercooler of this shape, would any modifications need to be done to the bumper or e-fan shroud?

I know VRSF has one for the E60, in 2 shapes, one being like this Wagner Tuning: http://www.vr-speed.com/vrsf-7-front...2-e90-e92.html

I'd love to find one with none-to-minimal trimming needed.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see they have instructions posted and it appears to be direct-bolt on..sweet: http://www.wagner-tuningshop.de/img/...0F10%20F11.pdf

I say the same thing sometimes...lol. Unfortunately (not that serious), this one is painted black.

I know this is a little late. I actually did two similar runs, one with FBO 20-90mph run. See IAT below:

STOCK FMIC outside temp 77 - IAT went from 96-165
WAGNER FMIC outside temp 73 -IAT went from 87-94

I was in shock on the temp drop!! Keep in mind I also have BM3 and running 15-18 psi so my stock FMIC was burning up. Did logs, just not sure how to upload yet.

I took pics just not sure how to upload. And FYI- the F10 535 FMIC stock or Wagner sits behind the radiator, you can’t see it from the front. I installed it and front the front my car looks stock.

Hope this works, see link below. Keep in mind, the 535 radiator sits in front of the intercooler, so you can’t see it when installed like the 135/235/335 and so on.
