Unhappy Delivery delayed by 5 weeks...

Hi,

I am a big fan of this site and was eager to post pics of my new F11 530D XDrive this week or next week...

But today I was informed that the delivery of all 5 XDrive have been delayed and I will have to wait another 5 weeks...

Is this because of 2012 models?

Nope... it was ordered end February... (in Europe)
So I guess it will still be a 2011 model... not a 2012...

The thing about "the all new 2012 car" when it's in fact only just march 2011 seems like a typical american marketing phenomenon.
Whenever I'm in the States I can't help noticing that car manufacturers in each commercial and on every billboard are trying to convince customers that they're actually selling next year's model.
Total BS imho.

You ordered in feb? And you haven't gotten it yet? Holy crap. And now another 5 wks? That's insane. I'd go nuts. I ordered mid may 2011 and it was out on vessel last week. Why so long for yours? Even without the 5am delay it's already been 15 weeks since you ordered. Any reason?

Should your delivery be faster since you are in europe?

Depends on dealer allocation.

No there is no reason given... just a delay for all the XDrive 5 series models.
I am located in Belgium.

Indeed I don't understand why bec. a colleague who ordered in Germany got his 2 weeks ago.... and he ordered in march. So for him... no delay... about the same specs.

Maybe some options I ordered... But I didn't ordered active drive, driving assistance or so...

I guess I'll never know and the dealer says "not my fault"... you just have to wait I guess...

They are probably converting to electric steering.
