So I just bought the latest design media cradle for the iPhone 4. The phone gets very hot when connected to it. That little fan doesn't seem to do much. Anyone else seeing this with the latest media cradle?

At first I thought the dealer had sold me one of the old media cradles that had been recalled but no this is latest model. Anyone???

As reported here a month ago, my iPhone got so hot while in the new media cradle it cut off two of my phone calls and displayed an overtemp error.

I just got my car with a Media one, I hope they fitted the new model, I let you know if the heating problem still on, my trip from the dealer home, about 1 hour showed no sign of heating, but it was not used so not really a test.
By the way, how do you check if this is the new model and not the old one?

The old version is black only, while the new one has also silver parts. In addition the new one contains a fan.

this the one I got delivered with my car over the weekend, looks like the new one, production 31 match 11. I will eventually try it with a long conversation and let you know the outcome since this is the new model. below is a photo of the unit in question.
