Emails in idrive ????
Ok. I have a 2013 m sport that I purchases new on 5/26/13. I have the technology package. I have read all the forums and still can't get emails or texts. Can someone post an easy to follow guide on how the get emails/texts on idrive? I have an iPhone 4S with O'S 6.1.3.

To get text message working, I assume the only thing missing is a bluetooth setting on the phone.
Start the Settings app -> Bluetooth -> in the Devices-list, tap the blue arrow next to your car-name and slide Show Notifications to ON. As of the next time the phone connected to the car, this started working, and has been ever since. There are other threads about gettings emails to show up, but that ain't working out of the box. Note: it might be helpful to check if there is an update available for the bluetooth in the car at www.bmw.com/update This is info of the current version for my 2011 model year: UPD01006.bin The accompanying information is attached below. |

If your in your car then go into BMW online and navigate to applications and add email to it. It should find the email account you set up or you can set it up in car. If your going to setup Gmail then remember to go to your inbox to give access to the app otherwise it won't work - I spent a while wondering why it wasn't working as I didn't authorise the app. |

I'm in the UK and have an HTC One. A few days ago I suddenly noticed that it was displaying emails. Version was 3.5.4. Yesterday looking for emails and nothing there. Tried again today and nothing there so updated to 3.5.6 for the BMW Bluetooth software. Still nothing.
It does have the email filter as an option in the messages menu though Don't know what I've changed on the HTC one -But it definitely was working any one else any experience with emails from the later android phones? Thanks Jon |
