Can 3 kids fit in a 535i sedan

My wife and I are contemplating a third child and curious about the reality of fitting three kids into her 535i or whether we would need a different car.

If we try for three next year, our current two kids will be almost 4, and 1.5 years old.

Our current baby seat carrier is the Snug Ride from Graco and child seat is a Britax Marathon 70.

With both seats in the car today, there isn't a lot of space between them for a booster of another seat.

The reason is the side bolsters on the seat push the car seats away from the doors and into the car.

Are there recommended car seats and boosters which provide a safe use but are narrower to accommodate a newborn, 1.5 year old in a Marathon 70, and a booster/child seat?

Any insight to 3 kids of these ages in the car and how you fit them safely would be welcome.

Would this situation be any better in a X5 which I really want to avoid?

Not in a 5-series saloon or touring... We struggled to get ANY third person in the back when both of our kids needed car seats - even when one was just a booster seat.

In our current f10 M-sport, the seats "taper" more than on the previous e60 M-sport saloon (shaped more for only four people), so some of the wider child seats are more difficult to put the seat belt in. i.e. what you say about the seat bolsters.

X5 rear seats seem flatter from what I have seen, and not as curved/tapered as in the 5-series.

Unfortunately, it will either have to be a different type of car, or make of car.

I have 3 kids and a 535. The short is answer you won't fit 3 car seats in teh back seat. They might fit with a lot of aggravation but not something you'd want to fuss with every day.

The 535 is my car. The kid hauler is wifey's car... just ordered her a mercedes GL350 diesel.

BMW needs to make an X7.

I have an 535I with my 6 year old in the back right with a booster seat, my 11 month old in the middle and my wife in the back left no problem. Wife says she has a plenty of room and she is not a 110 lbs Lady soo. But we don't use the base for the rear facing baby seat it has built in spots for the seat belt to secure the car seat. Saves a lot of room! We downgraded from a 7 seat 2011 Durango RT to the 2013 535I M Sport. Fantastic car!! It's no problem for us but you might strain your back getting the middle child in and out of the F10. By the way test drive a X5 much better getting the middle baby in and out.

Good Luck!

Well, I once remember saying to a friend, "you try carting three kids around in a 5 series."

I tried to stop myself, but when you think about the state of the world and the struggles of so many Americans, damn that was such a pretentious statement on my part. Even though it is a true statement, I really regret saying that and appearing like a pretentious moron.
