Help with 2011 535 xDrive purchase
My wife has a 5 1/2 yr old 328xi that she loves, but we could use a little bigger car. I was pricing out new 535's but I think a 2011 lease return would be a lot better value with a trade. Looks like I can pick up a 535 low to mid 30's.
I was originally thinking CPO, but if I buy from a private seller, if the car is still under the 4/50 can I purchase a gold or platinum BMW warranty for 7/100? I'm thinking that may be a better deal than a CPO with the 6/100 which is only a gold level warranty. Anything special to look for on the 535's? I'm a big comfort access fan, but other than heated seats and sat radio, we don't need a lot of options. Comfort seats look nice, that might be a little tricky to find used. |

OP - I did the exact same thing - bought a 11 535 xDrive that is still under warranty and now looking into buy the extended warranty from BMW. I bought my car for $41k (at the time) when a similarly loaded CPO car would've cost around $48k. Now I am looking to pay $5k additional to get the extended warranty. A negative is that you cannot finance your warranty cost but positive is that you get another year for buying it separately!! Another positive is that I did not pay a $700 dealer fee when buying the car from the stealership, bought private party!
