Help with 2011 535 xDrive purchase

My wife has a 5 1/2 yr old 328xi that she loves, but we could use a little bigger car. I was pricing out new 535's but I think a 2011 lease return would be a lot better value with a trade. Looks like I can pick up a 535 low to mid 30's.

I was originally thinking CPO, but if I buy from a private seller, if the car is still under the 4/50 can I purchase a gold or platinum BMW warranty for 7/100? I'm thinking that may be a better deal than a CPO with the 6/100 which is only a gold level warranty.

Anything special to look for on the 535's? I'm a big comfort access fan, but other than heated seats and sat radio, we don't need a lot of options. Comfort seats look nice, that might be a little tricky to find used.

Yes you can, remember the dealerships have to earn as well so getting CPO from them will usually be more expensive with less negotiating room.

OP - I did the exact same thing - bought a 11 535 xDrive that is still under warranty and now looking into buy the extended warranty from BMW. I bought my car for $41k (at the time) when a similarly loaded CPO car would've cost around $48k. Now I am looking to pay $5k additional to get the extended warranty. A negative is that you cannot finance your warranty cost but positive is that you get another year for buying it separately!! Another positive is that I did not pay a $700 dealer fee when buying the car from the stealership, bought private party!
