Intercooler Information
hey guys new to this thread and had a question regarding the intercooler in my 2011 535i. i cant find anything online or any pictures of any for the f10. everything is either for the 1 series or 3 series. is there anything available is my first question, and number 2 is there any products that are bolt on with out doing a bunch of modifications. of course this is for aftermarket. any info at all would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know much about it, but there is a bagged 535 I see all over instagram and the internet with a BIG intercooler up front. If you can find him I'm sure he will be able to help you out.
air_f10 is his username on instagram. Awesome looking car |

I believe it involves some custom fitting with the bumper and spacing inside there, but it is doable, just not bolt on and go.

I know this guy. I am almost positive his intercooler was a total custom job, not an off the shelf product and install.

valbmw yes thats it. is it possible to just swap that out with an actual intercooler? 550Reasons thanks for the info. maybe you could help out with this same question. the airf10 guy responded and he said his is custom with alot of modifying. theres gotta be a simpler way of doing this mod.

The aftermarket intercoolers are known much better for the E60/61 with N54 engine, there is some research: http://5series.net/forums/e61-tourin...-535-a-135864/ Some info exist how it is done for N55 of 335i. But for the F10 it is a different thing and there is no bolt-on solution known so far.
The best option is probably something like the ER thing with custom fitting as suggested above. There are many of "universal" FMICs on amazon or ebay but I wouldn't go this way: no charge pipes and fitting kits and the psi pressure specs are typically not available. It’s not the best idea to run installation with no warranty at your risk. Generally retrofitting the F10 with an aftermarket intercooler is a challenge so far, and needs a good professional advice. I would recommend talking to the experienced tuning partners in your area. |

F10 Intercooler upgrade
I spoke with a tech at Wagner "http://www.wagner-tuning.com/BMW_c_8.html" and they mentioned that they have finished R&D on the upgraded Intercooler for F10 with N55 engine and they are expecting to release this product in March or April .
