Geneva 2011 Live: Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo Sedan and Touring

Renowned BMW tuning house Alpina has brought its latest F10/F11 creations to the Geneva auto show.

Both the Alpina F10 sedan and F11 touring boast 507hp / 700Nm torque from their 4.4L V8 twin-turbo motors, each mated to a ZF 8 peed sport automatic transmission ("Switch-tronic").

0-100kmh (62 mph) is accomplished in 4.7 seconds for the F10 B5 and 4.8 seconds for the F11 B5.

Here's Autozeitung's earlier review of the Alpina F10 B5.

Must resist urge to fly to Geneva and drool all over B5 F11. God, that Alpina full black panel display is amazing, but then again, what about this car isn't?

Arrrrrrrrghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

(not digging those blue seats though).

I like the black piano interior trim.
But doesn't it need a drop? Car looks high.

Where are the trademark Alpina Shift buttons on the "non-sport" steering wheel? Can't tell if there are paddles behind the steering wheel spokes either. I'm really feeling this car overall - just curious about a few omissions.

Touring is great except the blue two-tone seats. Both improve on the looks of the standard 5 series.

Most of the latest Alpina have the shift buttons behind the wheel, if you look in one of the photos you will see the minus symbol at the top

Even the old ones did...before BMW had shift paddles, they always had the shift "nipples". LOL.

There is a pearl white B7 in my dealer's showroom. Nice looking vehicle from a distance BUT the bumpers and spoiler, etc. are white plastic that could not have been painted because the color doesn't match. Up against the pearl white body the white plastic looks really fake and cheap. This one is sold but it had a price in the mid $140's. If I was to pay that much for an B7 (still $100+ for a B5) I'd be pretty pissed if the exterior colors didn't match.
