BMW 5 Series F10 Spare Tire Kit

Has anyone bought the BMW 5 Series F10 Spare Tire Kit at bimmerzone yet? It is almost $300.00 for this donut...but is it worth it, and does it look stable enough?

I'm wondering them same thing.

How about buying the fix-a-flat foam and air pump kit? It's like $75 from auto zone.

I pieced together the wheel, tire, hubcentric adapter, jack, cover,etc. from this thread http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthre...ighlight=spare

Also carry the ContiComfort kit just in case. Its an air pump and comes with the slime in a separate canister for true emergencies. The Conti kit box fits nicely into the trunk compartment on the passenger side.

Doesn't BMW assist cover your for flat tires?

I'm going to Vegas Sunday and don't want to risk a flat but don't really want to buy a whole spare tire kit.

Will the slime be good enough plus BMW assist?

I really would hate to put the slime in the tire...I heard it was really bad to clean out, They are also only good for pin holes, so a spare seams to be a must because I want to switch to non run flats, Michelin Super Sports...The spare on bimmerzone is really expensive with the jack kit it would be over $400.

Just wanted to note I took the plunge and bought the bimmer zone compact spare for my 2011 535i currently with run flats. But long term, I will replace with NRF's, and I want a spare like my previous BMW had. Call me old school, but I bought the BMW jack kit as well - yea, it was over $450, but now I feel like I can drive to Las Vegas with more peace of mind. Do you really think if you got a flat in front of Edwards AFB, that a service truck will magically appear any time soon, and god forbid you need a replacement tire.....sorry, but I rather pull over and change it myself, then I can drive (alittle slower) to repair (yes, RFT's can be plugged if it is in the tread area), or replace if needed. I also carry repair kit and pump kit as well.
It all fits neatly at the very back of the trunk.

However, I did take the spare to my local Wheel Works store, and asked them to test fit the spare on front and back just to make sure it fit, and also re torque all my lugbolts so I can get them off with a hand lugbolt wrench provided in the kit. Glad I did. The spare fit fine, but many of the lugbolts were over-tightened by some gorilla, and got them all reset to the 88.7Nm (approx. 90 Ft-lB) torque spec. I double checked I can loosen them with the hand wrench.

My plan is replace my RFT's with non RFT's soon.
Love my BMW, but hate BMW for making the RFT decision.
If everyone who wants non RFT's and a real spare like before - wrote a letter to BMW NA maybe just maybe they would relent?!
