F10 Power Failsafe
After downshifting to 2nd gear and coming to a stop at red light, I accelerated with the green light not realizing the F10 was still in 2nd. As I ramped up and heard the high revs, at the same time my car went into a reduced power or Failsafe mode, and the warning message appeared that the power train had malfunctioned. At this point my F10 sounded like it was mis-timed and hesitated badly. I drove slowly in this condition for about a minute, then all by itself everything returned to normal full power!

I thought the rev limiter was supposed to cut in well before any automatic default to a low power setting and an associated warning.
Might be worth a call to your dealer. |

If there's a fault and, as the rev limiter didn't appear to have cut in, I suspect there might be - this is a simple warranty investigation. |
