Paddle shift install??

Can I somehow install paddle shifters on my F10 535i Msport? I don't have the sport trans but I have the manual shifting option, just want to be able to do it with paddles. Thx

Short answer..... Yes. It will take some and possibly an airbag; depending on the wheel you have. I posted my experience here somewhere.

Yes, you need to retrofit the steering wheel with correct wiring and paddle shifter, then lastly code the car to enable 2TB SAT option.

Mine needed no wiring. The wheel was a direct fit. I did have to transplant my airbag into the new cover as the airbag that came with the wheel as a single-stage European model.

This. The paddles are pointless.

I'm pretty sure the OP was not looking for people's personal opinions on how useful paddle shifters are. I, for one, use them constantly.

Regardless, the retrofit is easy. A paddle shifter steering wheel is a direct swap on the F10. You do not need any additional wiring. You may need a different airbag depending on your current steering wheel.

Finally, you need to code the car as follows:

Re-Code for Sports Automatic Transmission:
Change FA (VO) to Remove 205 from VO & Add 2TB to VO

VO Code EGS, ICM, & KOMBI
Read FA(VO)Activate FA(VO)Read SVTRight-Click ECU & Select Code
VO Code ICM
Right-Click ECU & Select Code
VO Code KOMBI
Right-Click ECU & Select Code

SZL Module:

Enable Paddle Shifters (for Retrofits)
3000 Lenkrad_Schaltpaddles set to: aktiv

NOTE: Lenkrad_Schaltpaddles may also be named Variantencodierung_2_2_1

If you want M6 paddles let me know, I have the plastic cutout plate for said paddles. That is if you have an Msport wheel.
