Time for a little dress up this weekend....

I've been looking for a set of M5/M6 paddle shifters for months now, they always seem to be priced quite high. I like the stock paddles but they feel too far away from the wheel, the M ones are considerably better placed.

They list at over $850! but the other day I caught a brand new in box set for $100 shipped on eBay

I snagged the MPerformance pedal covers w/ foot rest from the local dealer.

Installing tomorrow!

All installed. Super easy setup on this one, just a few holes to drill in the pedals to affix the covers and simple R&R of the airbag to replace the paddles.

Can't really see the pedals when driving nor feel them but they sure look nice when you open the door to take a seat.

The M5 paddles are a much welcome addition, making manual shifting much more fluid without having to reposition your grip on the wheel.

When I did the shift paddles retrofit a few months ago I had doubt if the M5/M6 ones where compatible. At the end I went with the stock ones. I have been thinking on getting the m performance pedals but I dont know how they are going to look through constant use in a few months.

When possible share some pics of the shift paddles and the m performance pedals to see the change.

gabypr The paddles are very much compatible. I took them apart to make sure the pull up resistors were identical to LCI F10 and found they, along with the PCB topology were in fact identical. I had intended on exchanging the SMD resistors if needed but it turns out it was not.

Mounting and electrical connectors are also identical, they are a plug and play swap for LCI vehicles.

Do the photos above not load for you?

I was able to see the shifters and the pedals. Both looks very nice.

I have seen your progress regarding MP tuning and all the bolt ons you have. I want to see how your project goes along the way. In the future I will add some mods to get more hp/tq and make my f10 feel like a beast

No, they don't. Have the real thing in your hand and then compare it with those. The eBay items are cheap looking knockoffs that aren't near as nice. I'm sure in person it would be that much worse.

I don't get people and buying cheap knockoff stuff. The factory parts aren't expensive!

I don't think $162 for the two pedals "aren't expensive!"

I guess its all relative, I was under the impression we all drove late model BMW's. It comes with that the assumption one has some disposable income to spend on parts & service.

Unless I'm mistaken, and we're all driving early 90's Hondas, in which cases buying aftermarket knockoff/counterfeit products of sub par quality compared to the genuine product would be expected.

If that is all you can swing, and or its what you're happy with.... that's great. Lets not bring that junk into a thread showcasing genuine product.

So you're the product police? Why is it so important for you to criticize other people's choices? What do you care what or where I buy? I don't see you criticizing others for their choice of aftermarket body parts such as grills or spoilers...

How much stock in BMW do you own? Does BMW sign your paycheck? That would explain your product arrogance. You would also get genuine parts at significantly reduced prices.

Want to buy a set of the fancy-ancy genuine for my? Didn't think so...
