I turned 40 last week. But I feel like 25, except after 15 glasses of beer and the hangover

You have a single exhaust on a E9x 335i????

Do you have pics of that config? I thought all the US .35i cars also had the one-on-each-side exhaustpipes....

Required by US DOT, hated by most enthusiasts. I'm sure some aftermarket company will offer clear replacements and/or paintable replacements soon...

OP: Congrats, very nice choice, I believe this is the first F10 535i I've seen with sport package...

Great combo and your options choices are stellar. Most people wont spend th money on options like you did but they are really shortchanging themselves as well as the car. The sports wheels look great on the car and the seats alone are worth the few extra dollars.

I am surprised you didnt talk more about how awesoem the new 8 speed auto is. With the sport transmission the car is ransformed. The color combo is also sporty and rich at the same time which gives it real sporty yet premium feel. The Audi A6 interior has NOTHING on the new 5 interior. Pictures do NOT do it justice. Great choice in the wood trim as well. Great writeup and best of luck with our new car. I sell BMW in NJ also and your writeup is spot on. I cant wait to go to traning and drive this new 5 on the track to compare it with and without the dynamic handling package.

I think he is describing his current E60 535i (not dual-split exhaust), as opposed to his older E93 335i (dual-split exhaust).

Beautiful car. congrats. not really my taste in color for the interior i love gray but still looks good. good luck with it. watch the potholes and park far from everyone else so you dont get any dings on the side of your car

Tire Question?

What tires came with the Sport Package? Are they summer only?

My car (535i with sport package) came with Goodyear Excellence RFT tires. Tire Rack listing is here.

They are listed as "Grand Touring Summer" tires. So, yes, they are summer-only. $1510 per set... ouch.

Thank you

Ouch on price!

I was hoping all season high performance since I live in NJ. I guess it will stay in the garage if it snows.

My first impression upon seeing my car at the dealership was that it was black instead of gray. Sophisto Gray is dark, especially on a cloudy day or in the evening, and I really like it. Outstanding detail on the headlamps and dual exhaust. With the sport package, the proportions are perfect -- the car's a beast.

The Oyster/Black/Anthracite interior is very classy and comfortable. My wife thought the overall look and feel was like "sipping on a great cup of coffee." The layout of the controls, idrive, indicators and are intuitive and convenient.

I was surprised at how large and roomy the interior is. The huge moon roof really gives the car an open feeling. Plenty of leg and shoulder room in front and back. I'm 6'2" and sometimes feel kind of jammed into my E39. I feel very comfortable and sit much more upright with plenty of headroom in the F10. Visibility is excellent. My dealer posed the question, "Why would anyone buy a 7 series?"

Now the drive. Smooth as silk. Serene and composed. It's very easy to not notice the 8-speed auto transmission change gears when accelerating. It takes off like a coiled spring with surprisingly strong torque and zip. Very strong from a stand-still and lots of pop at 80 or 100 mph. The handling is exceptionally well balanced; the impact of the wide track and long wheelbase is obvious to the driver. It gives the sense of being crouched low, hugging the road. It really puts a grin on your face. I drove around all afternoon thinking about the line from the movie Office Space, "I did absolutely nothing all day, and it was everything I thought it would be..." I'm very happy with the 535i.

Now for some comments on the options.
  • Sport - love the look. Multi-contour seats significantly better than standard.
  • Dynamic Handling - Clever feature I viewed as a must-have to tune your driving experience to the road, your mood, the type of trip, fellow passenger preferences, etc. I see myself using this a lot. It's fun.
  • Premium and Premium 2 - Navigation screen is spectacular, deep/clear audio.
  • Driver Assistance - Was a little unsure when I ordered but very much like it so far. I've only tried lane departure and blind spot detection and find them excellent. I'll post an update once I test out the auto high beams and park assist. This is $1750 well spent. UPDATE: Auto high beams are excellent.
  • Cold Weather - No brainer for Northern climate.
  • Convenience - OK, I probably went overboard on this. Power tailgate and soft close doors are marginally useful features but keyless entry is cool. Probably not worth $1700 but what the hell.
My overall thought is "What a great car!" Great job BMW! Enjoy the photos and post any questions you may have. I'll post more after I've had some more time in the saddle.

Wowww Very nice Car
I ordered my last month in the Netherlands.
it was a F10 523 + 25.000 euros of options in total I had to pay around 75.000 euros and you still have more options on your car. its really ridiculous how cheap cars are in VS or how expensieve they are in the Netherlands, I wise I lived in VS.
If I had ordered your car in the Netherlands I would probably have to pay around 90.000 euros and with the exchange rate it would be more then 100.000 USD. its just no right:S.

Congrats. Thank you for the review. Wonderful color scheme. It is the same as my F10 that I pick up in Munich on July 13. Two weeks of relaxation and fun in Munich, Prague, Dresden, and Emsburen.
