Anyone here have Vossen CV3's?
I need to find out what the best tire combo for the CV3 is.
I've done a search and the only threads with Vossen wheels are form Vossen....and I've already spoken to them and they weren't very helpful. The most they could tell me was that they're not too sure what works best....if anything maybe Nitto? Kind of vague considering they have many posts here with CV3's setup on cars with tires. The CV3 is a 20" rim and only come in 20x9 and 20x10.5....so if you have these rims, please let me know what tire brand / size you're running. My current setup is with Michelin Pilot Super Sport in 245/35-20 and 285/30-20 and I'm getting more stretch than I'd like so I'm looking for possible alternatives that will have a nice fit with no stretch. I've already bought a set of Michelin for $1400 and made somewhat of a mistake....so any help would be appreciated before I go spend money on another set of tires and get the same result! Thanks! I have CV3s also. I am running Michelin PSS 255 up front which is perfect! And 285 in back and have the stretch issue as well! I would like to go a little wider next time to eliminate this but not sure what width to go to??

If you take a look at all the Vossen pics with a F10/CV3 combo it doesn't look like there's a stretch, having said that I could only zoom in on some of their photos. Not sure what they used for those particular photos? Would you happen to have a closeup pic. I would like to compare it to mine and see if we both have the same stretch....I'm assuming we do. |

F10 with CV3's on post #82, looks like Conti tire and they look pretty stretched.

Maybe the solution is a set of 295's in the rear? That sounds like a really wide tire...not to mention I'll be installing ACS springs soon....I may be setting myself up for some complications going with 295 rear and a drop! This is more complicated than I anticipated...I shouldn't of underestimated this process....live and learn |

Like you said...maybe 295 is the only "true" solution to not having any stretch or gap. Having said that...I don't think going with 295 will be without possible issues? rubbing if you have a drop, or just the feel of the car with that big of a contact patch?

if you go 295 in the rear you would need a different tire up front since you have an xdrive car. the overall diameter needs to be same.
If you go find a online tire calculator you can see just how much it will be off by. There is a certain limit that xdrive cars can run where it wouldn't freak out the system but nobody know for sure what that limit is. I find it strange that bmw runs 245/35 and 275/30 tires on their cars when its not as perfect as 245/285 combo (overall diameter)
