I run a 530D M Sport F10.

I want some sun on my face...

So ...

1. An e46 330ci - £5k done... pay the fuel enjoy the sun, still feels like a 40K car

2. 335i conv £12k....newer shape but like 1mpg

3. M3 conv e46 - make sure its had inspection 2 ( but shit SMG box which always break )

4. Boxster 987 - They rattle and look cheap now.

5. MX5 - fun - apparently....

6. Z4 New - 2009 30 for £14 - ( expensive toy )

My 06 Porsche 987 never rattled. It was one of the most solid cars I've ever had. "Look cheap" is purely subjective. Personally, I mentally had to have a 911 so I ultimately traded for a 997 cab (which does rattle but still consider it the best car I've ever driven). Depending On your budget consider a late model 987 or newer base 981. Nothing out there competes for the money. A part of me thinks the 987 was the better car save the stigma of it being a Boxster.

I'll probably get berated for this one, but at least drive an MX5 before you make a choice. We had a 2000 MX5 1.8 Icon, full cream leather, 6MT and a LSD. Probably the most fun car I have ever driven, very reliable and resonable MPG.
