Cool Painted Brakes this weekend

I'm a week in now of having the car, and already was going crazy about the rusty brakes. With a couple of hours and some elbow grease, here is my DIY caliper painting in my garage.

I went black bc I'm not wanting to attract a ton of attention to my very stock brakes and I just think it's clean.

Any feedback is welcome!

Looks great in black. That's something I've been meaning to do as well just haven't gotten around to it. How long did it take per brake, spray, dry time etc..?

About 3 hours total:

- 3 coats of black
- 3 coats clear

As noted by others, it took the most time to prep everything so I wouldn't paint the car. I for some unknown reason have a massive roll of paper, and extra painter's tape.

I used a wire brush to clean of excess garbage, and I let each coat dry for about 10 minutes and then the final clear coat dry for about 45 minutes.

On a difficulty level this is a 3! Total supplies was probably $50 from AutoZone

I sorta thought that too, but they gave it a clean bill of health and it's under warranty and (like a sucker) i bought the protection plan that gets me a brand news set of brakes twice over the next 5 years or something, so I'll just have them replaced when it gets worse.

Me too, bmw brake caliper paint is garbage, I found it better to remove them first before painting.
