Steering wheel control unit - LCI Retrofit

I recently installed a LCI MSport/M5 steering wheel into my pre-LCI F10. Everything works except the heat (both wheels are heated).

My question is, does the steering wheel have 1 control unit or 2?

I see 2 different control units on realoem.com : (these are specific to my features, heat, no lane departure, no vibration)

61319218380 (didn't buy this one) - thinking this is pre-LCI control unit but not sure
61317848638 (only installed this one)

61319218380 is installed in both pre-LCI and LCI without M sport wheel
61317848638 is installed only in LCI with M Sport wheel

An LCI with M Sport wheel will only have 61317848638 installed according to ETK

Great, looks like the previous unit is only for non Msport wheel.

I went from pre LCI wheel heated
to Msport/M-6 Wheel (with the M6 wheel trim) - Heated

I added paddles (need that coded)

I haven't been able to get the heat to work on the new wheel, but I also have a plug that is not connected off the control unit. I already have the wire from the heating element going to the control unit, but maybe that small connector needs to go somewhere and I just didn't see it. In the diagram below, part 3, small connector on the top right is not plugged into anything.

cipher5 , that small connector from #3 that is not plugged, most likely is for the Lane-change warning.
I just did mine from LCI luxury line steering wheel non-paddle shifter to M Sport steering wheel with M trim and paddle shifter.

Does the heating button light up when you press it ?
Then just no heat on the steering wheel?

Is your wheel heated?

Correct, the button lights up but there is no heat to the wheel. I read somewhere that even if the fuse were blown, the steering heat lights up regardless. I may pull the out in the next day or two and reseat the connections just to be sure. Maybe it is just loose.

r33_RGSport I see you have combined the m5/m6 trim with the buttons from a non-m5/m6 as you don't have the m buttons. Is this also a m5/m6 steering wheel (3 colour stitching)? did you use non-m5/m6 electronics (ecu, cabling, harness)?

It is not M5/M6 steering wheel. Just standard LCI M Sport steering wheel.
PM me with the last 7 of your VIN if you are interested in doing such retrofit.

OP did you ever get this to work? I’m trying to figure out now how I get my heated wheel to work when I swap for LCI wheel. Just need a different control unit?
