How do I know if these tyres will fit on my wheels?

So, I just purchased a 530d GT, it had aftermarket wheels and the originals were given to me also, but without tyres.

I'm getting the original 316 style 20" refurbished, and I'd like to just swap the tyres to them, but how do I know if they will fit?

The aftermarket wheels are 20" and the tyres on them are 275/34 ZR20 on the back and 245/40 ZR20..

Can anyone give me an idea if they'll fit or will I have to buy a new set?

Thanks

Your car has a list of OEM wheels and the 316 is one of them: http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...89&hg=36&fg=15 According to this, the factory parameters are: F 8.5x20 ET25 R 10x20 ET41. Therefore whatever OEM or aftermarket wheels fit these parameters, they are by definition OK to your GT.

There is normally an extra offset space of 10-15 mm front and 20-25 mm rear. The offset can be adjusted for more aggressive and flush look with the spacers, or the custom wheels may come with the custom offset in that range. But the offset space on the GT is something I cannot tell you, but the wheel shop can or you can measure it yourself.

I think you misunderstand (or I misunderstand your response!).

I want to put the original 316 wheels back on, but with the tyres that are on the aftermarket wheels. I just need to know if those tyres will fit the 316 wheels so I can get a garage to swap them for me

Thanks

Sorry. The tires will fit, there is no problem for a 20" tire to fit a 20" rim.
The rear is 275/35 not 34 it is typo. Good luck )

I see, this is a god idea! The 245 width will sit perfectly on 8.5", the 275 may have a minor stretch depending on tire brand (sidewalls are of different shapes).
I have Michelin PSS on my F10 530dX with a bit lower tire profile: F 245/35/20 and R 285/30/20 (rim widths are the same 8.5" and 10' like yours), and the tire shoulders/sidewalls are square. This is the also the most popular setup great for the xDrive, because the rolling diameters match perfectly.

Cool, not much different then.

I'll be ok with minor stretch if it means I don't have to buy another set of tyres! They are Pirelli tyres, so a decent brand will just wait and see what they look like.

My brother in law runs a body shop, so he is refurbishing them when he gets some spare time, probably in the next 2 weeks and the centre caps will have arrived and just slot in and be ready to go, looking forward to getting her back to the standard setup.
