Vehicle Finder Returning incorrect location

I've just noticed that the phone app can't find anything on the map either. The spinner in the top right corner just spins forever. This worked on Dec 28th and doesn't now.

Do you mean that you cannot search for an address using the google search, or do you mean that the map is not loading ?

Both are working for me. I'm on android and the map is a google map. I think on iOS it uses Apple Map imagery.

All working OK on my iOS, Car location, send to car, USB nav etc.

Map loads. Shows me and the car co-located. I search for an address and it never comes back. Other apps work fine.

I see, that is odd. Mine definitely does return an address, and I can send that address to the car. That all works fine. All the remote functions work fine too, the only issue I have is that the vehicle location returned by the app is nonsense !

Stranger still, when using the newly released "BMW Connected" app (android) I have just noticed that today (at this moment) there is no option to locate the car. The buttons are available (in the map view) to locate me, and to toggle satellite imagery, but the two vehilce related buttons, one of which is locate vehicle, are missing, so there is no way to do this. SOmething must be funky with the service.

If I use the old legacy "my bmw remote" app, the buttons are all there, but the location that is returned is still wrong, as its my location.

I'm seeing "No Vehicle Position Available Yet. Please Run The Vehicle Finder if available".

As I say, it is not available now, the buttons have gone. (BMW connected ap)

...and now they have all re-appeared (the buttons) and I can execute a find vehicle once again, but the location is still just my phone location

Tried mine yesterday while ~30 miles away from the car. Not using the new combined app (feedback on Google Play says it's pants, so sticking with the Remote app and the Connected app), using BMW Remote app, Android. All works fine.

I tried the connected app on my Wife's iPhone 6 and went for a walk, it constantly showed the car at home, despite my position moving around the estate.

If I try the same with my phone, which is a Nexus 5x, the car just follows me around each time I execute the finder.

Really bizzare. Thing is I tired this on an old iPhone 5 which I use in the car for Spotify, and that did the same as mine.

This probably doesn't help but mine works fine with the new app, just tried it.

The new app shows the car briefly where it really is then moves the car pointer to my current location. It also enforces the 1500m limit correctly so I'm confident it knows where the car is and it's just the phone app that is flakey.

I think your right, although I have tried previous app versions which I know worked, and it doesnt now, so I wonder if its an OS update that broke this.

its not that simple though, as it works on my wifes iPhone but NOT my iPhone 5C, which is even more confusing.

having just posted that, mine is apparently working today, First time in months and dozens and dozens of tries. The car is close (office car park) but its definitely no longer on the exact spot that I am (which is inside the building)

I formally logged this with BMW connected drive yesterday. Unsure if that helped, possibly not given that it was only yesterday.

Odd that it is fixed with no app update, must have been some backend issue
