Tire and Wheel Insurance

i'm leasing a 535xi with 19inch wheels/tires in Westchester NY. Was quoted $1899 for the insurance for 36 mos. From what I read the dealer cost is $800. What have others paid in the area? Does anyone know if you can go to another dealer for the insurance or do you have to stay with where you leased the car? thx.

Skip the insurance. I live in your area and had low pro run flats on my 135i and never had one flat in three years. Also keep in mind that you'll only make it to the black after not one, not two, not three, not four, but five or six blown tires at $1899.

Thx. What about wheel damage? Not sure if you get a flat on these run flat tires, how often the rim is also damaged.

Not saying it is a reason to buy, but the insurance also covers bent rims as well, which is a lot more likely.

On my last 3 series I had rim damage and I had the rims fixed right at the dealer. In my area the dealer uses a service that comes to the dealer and refinishes rims like 2 times a week. It costs about $150 and they will fix it to like new. They just had a new M6 that one of the workers curbed that got fixed. Also you can send your rims out to different places and have them refurbished. I had two rims done that way too and they came back great. I think that wheel insurance is a joke! I didnt get it on my new 14 lease.
