I eagerly await your post with the numbers! Hopefully everything is getting done as I write this I've been dying to see that for a week!

LOL Jimefam. Too funny.

Ok, I'll admit. I've been waiting for Avus to post too. Regardless of what the numbers say, I'm thrilled with the upgrade on mine. The big surprise it is the better fuel efficiency. Just crazy! Can't understand why BMW doesn't just put these engines out tuned with the Dinan programming.

Getting this done on your 550 MSport will be pretty amazing to be sure. I know with my upgrade, they had some issues - especially being the first xDrive vehicle. But with some valiant effort, they got it to work. Anyways, we'll wait together now for Avus.

Personally, I think you will be quite pleased. I just recommend you get some new stickier tires to go with "whichever" tune you ultimately decide upon.

Way ahead of you Car fan! I'm waiting on the rims to get here and also the car hasn't arrived yet. All I've heard is great things from the Dinan tune but I'm just curious as to what the actual power increase is and what the curve looks like.

That's what's up! You must be going with 20 x 10.5 or 20 x 11 rims on the rears? Do you think you may have to roll the rear fenders to fit those 305's, especially if you go with a drop. Either way, I think thats going to be a good look ,with excellent grip.

I hope not I was told by the sales rep at forgestar that these are the widest that would fit with the H&R springs. We'll see I should have the car and rims the first week of February and I'll post pics once I do. Yeah the Rims are 20X10.5 in the rear.

Also be sure you get aligned after the rim/tire install. Toe was off on my rears. The fronts were fine, tech states that it was most likely a factory error as usually the rears would not need adjustment with just 14k on the odo. Originally, I was running the GoodYear Excellence RFT's. The front tires probably were good for another 7k and the rears another 5k as they were okay on the outer edges as well as the middle. The left rear however was showing belt cords on the inside. The right rear was starting to wear as well. I am one who is serious about tires, so I was shocked to see that.

I am sure you probably know this, but the ride without the runflats is 10 times better.

Yeah I'm gonna put the springs on at the same time as the rims and tires and get it aligned. As for the ride i'd be happy if it stayed the same since I'm putting on 20's and max performance summers vs grand touring stock ones also their pretty low profile so it may not be that much of an improvement but overall the handling and grip should be much better.

Tell me about the springs. I had the Dinan flash done end of Dec. and really would like to put new springs in my 550ix. Wasn't aware that springs were available for AWD cars at this time.

Finally back. Its been a while. My GT had presented me with a few recurring issues, before and after the DINAN tune, that I needed to have fixed. As such, hp/tq #s I received from my dyno pulls were quite low.
I will re-dyno next Wednesday to see if I now get better results from the DINAN tune in my now repaired GT.

Avus,
Any updates on the dyno pull? I just got my 2010 550i back today after doing the Dinan software upgrade. It's like a beast now. I'm not sure if I'm going to be disciplined enough to measure better gas mileage with my foot in the floor pan so much, but there is definitely a ridiculous amount of power increase felt. I plan on taking it to a local drag strip just to record some 1/4 mile times. I do have to do something about these run flats though...don't like 'em at all.

Sounds like another satisfied customer Definitely get those run flats off of there ASAP. In doing so, you should experience a much better ride overall, with much more grip. I have so much grip now it feels like I need wheelie bars at times - LOL

I don't believe my dyno numbers are of much use. Let's just say you can count the hp increase number using just your fingers and toes. My 5GT, as mentioned in other posts, has been troublesome. The Dinan tune was removed last week, as they felt it was exacerbating problems with the 5GT stalling, etc.
If they determine the root cause is not the Dinan tune, it will be reinstalled.

Jimefam, do you have an update on tune, springs, tires? It looks like the outer diameter on those rears is 1.6" smaller than stock 275 tires.

I want to lower and change tires from the 20" stock settings and have self-leveling sport package.

Thanks!!!

Avus, sorry to learn you are having continued issues. My dealership worked on my alignment issue for nearly 2 months so I can relate somewhat. Also, my Dinan upgrade was done a number of times before it took. Mind you, it was one of the earlier ones done so I trust they have worked out some of the issues. Has been running great!

Spring is finally on the horizon and my new summer tires and 21" rims go on later this month. Good luck and keep us posted.

They are here and installed!!

Hi Everyone. Just got my new 21" ADV.1's on my Ultimate DINAN GT. Just needs a quick detail and ready for Summer. Love these rims and how they look on the car.

Posting some quick pics for you to see - couple of pics of the original 20" spoke rims which are now used with my winter tires, and the new 21" ADVs on Hankooks.

Ride is a tad more firm and steering slightly more responsive. Averaging 12.1 L/100Kms now City driving since the DINAN install. Car has about 5000 km on it now.
