Audi has come a very long way. I'd at least test drive one before buying my next sedan.

I agree that it is worth a closer look. Cars like the A6, Jaguar XF ,Infiniti M and Merc E are in the same class. It just happens that I am moving back to BMW from A Jag XF supercharged. I just feel at home with BMW. (I have had 4 so far). I like the fact that they push the tech. envelop sometimes with not so successful a result but they get it right at the end and set the standards for others to follow.

I've just switched from an A6 avant to an F11, partly because of running costs, partly because the new A6 Avant isn't out for a while, but mostly because I've had an horrendous reliability issues with both of my last Audis, both of which were leased, so owned from new and only three years old when I got rid of them. They both ended up going back to the dealer for various issues at least once between each service, and I'm not hard on cars, I'm quite a pedestrian driver and I look after them as if they were my own.
I'm certainly hoping the BMW experience is better! Objectively, the interior build quality of the A6 was better than the F11 (albeit the design was obviously older on the A6), take a look at the glove box, you certainly wouldnt get that on an Audi. But, overall I certainly prefer the design, function and driving experience of the F11. As for the new A6, just a bit too russian doll styling for my like. Saw an A8 the other day, took me a while to figure out though that it wasn't just an A4....

As this is supposed to be a new A6 it looks exactly the same as the old one....would hope the interior has changed, as the previous A6 looked old fashioned inside. The wheels are off the A5 also, would have expected a nice new style for this rather than recycling another models.
Glad I went F10 M sport........ |
