Kia K9

Of all the other features they could have chosen to be "inspired" by, they chose the shifter.

if the look/feel of shifter/control matches BMW's function that would be a surprise.

Its amazing the things that are options for us are standard on many of the much cheaper Korean cars. But we don't just pay for the features, right?

copy of BMW shfter..
Even the "P" button.
But there is no way AT will be as good as in BMW.
BMW is leading there.

But that steering wheel was horrible on K9.

Badge makes the difference

Why wouldn't it be? BMW doesn't make their own transmissions in the F10, they buy them from ZF, as do a lot of other people. Would be very easy for them to match it.

I believe there is some kind of contractual issues.
ZF is making transitions for BMW, but why are BMW ones the best?

I do not know for sure but I would not be suprised that there is some kind of agreement between BMW and ZF that says that they are not allowed to sell the same technologi to other companies for a period of time etc...
It is quite common in business as long as you pay for it.

Cause each car manufacturer will drive them with their own software.

Audi uses the same transmission in many of their cars. As long as the gear ratios are different, it's no issue.
