ABS malfunction. The red brake light is on and the car with squiggly lines (traction control light) is on. Says drive carefully and take it to your BMW center. Anyone tell me of any experience with this...

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago. The message said: "DTC fault, drive moderately and visit your dealer".
The message came up as I accelerated too fast on a damp road. The rear wheels lost grip big time and that was it.
I immediately called the dealer but they told me to take it easy. After I "resetted"

the car (stop, shutdown, lock, unlock, start) the message was gone. The dealer ran a check anyway but everything was fine.
Probably the downside of a car loaded with electronics, sensors, CPU's and safety systems.

Sounds like a lack of reading wheel speed. NOt sure if one of the sensors is bad, momentarily lost comms or what.
