I assume that this would void the warranty?
Some quick wins though...probably not good for the engine in the long term.
I'd go for the BMW Performance kit.

Wow..... the car has been transformed pulling away from junctions is effortless it feels more like a 530d also you cant hear the engine as much it seems much more refined.

as for warranty its plug and play and untraceable.

This is a BIG thumbs up from me.

Never been a fan of tuning boxes as they just generally over fuel the engine and fool the ECU.
If you're pleased with it then great , but personally I'd always go down the remap route.

Most certainly NOT untraceable but the dealer is unlikely to look unless you bollox the transmission.

Does this unit just change the fuelling or is it closed-loop?

Was reading somewhere the other day that when there is an issue with drivetrain warranty claims, BMW can/will interrogate (Munich if necessary) and flag up tuning interference, and it will be marked against the car.

Even second users, without knowing a device has ever been fitted, have had this "flag up" show on a dealers screen, stating the warranty has exclusions.

DMS advertise a remap for latest 520d. E60 520d goes from 177 to 210 bhp.
