Passenge side mirror and reverse

How do I stop the passenger side mirror from turning down when I reverse? I hate it and don't need it.

My manual says to flip the mirror switch to the passenger side to make it stop turning down, but no matter which side it's flipped it still turns down. Is there another way to stop it

Flipping the switch works for my mirror so maybe you have a fault?

It works as per user guide, maybe being a feature not available in the U.S. as standard, the feature was coded in hence not working as per user guide.

I sometimes need the mirror to go back to normal level all what's needed is switching the button as per guide to the driver’s side.

It's a standard for the US cars as well. I would think that there is a fault somewhere if flipping the switch does not stop the tilt.

Just tried it right now. If I leave it switched on the driver's side the passenger's side tilts down...if I switch it over to passenger side it does not tilt down.

Counter-intuitive but that's the way it functions. Switch to passenger side mirror and it DOESN'T tilt.

You right I confused this with auto closing the mirrors when locking doors.

Damn it

mines broken! It tilts in both positions! BUT I'm going to try something else that might stop it from tilting down, I'll report back inna minute if it works.

Ok, so I tried to set mirrors and seat memory and that didn't work and I just noticed I can't adjust the passenger side mirror at all now! My girlfriends e60 did the same thing and all the sudden one day the passenger side mirror started working again. Something strange is going on.........

If I leave it switched on the driver's side the passenger's side tilts down...if I switch it over to passenger side it does not tilt down.
