UK July F10 2013 MY changes & prices

Attached are the UK July 2013 changes:

UK Product July 2013 Changes/Additions F10 F11 5 Series Product Actions 0712_2.pdf
UK July 2013 Options List with Prices F10ProductLibrary.2013.MY.pdf
UK Multifunction Display Bulletin 6WB Multifunctional Instrument panel - F10_11_2.pdf

Some changes not highlighted in Product Changes ie Comfort Access pack includes the remote boot (trunk) opening with the foot swipe (just reread it and it does - my mistake) and the Lane Departure Warning system now includes approach control warning. But the MFID/HUD question still remains uncertain

Quote from my dealer:

I have double checked on BMW’s quotation / ordering system and by selecting the multi functional display (MFD), it prompts me to remove the HUD (as well as the Black Panel display).

The MFD option is available with the Media Package – BMW Professional (ZMP) but not with the Plus package (ZMQ)

Although this is a bit self-contradictory as the Options List clearly states that 6WB Multi Functional Instrument Display (MFID) can be selected with ZMQ..... in combination with ZMQ Media package - Professional Multimedia Plus at £255 extra

For non-nav & business-nav, screen now reduced to 6.5" from 7".

Definitely not the typical incremental evolution… Not that 0.5" will make any difference, but does anyone know the reason for the change?

Hello All

I've placed an order for a 530d M Sport with Media Package- Professional and also the Black Panel Display.

I've been given an estimated deilvery date of 31st July. Any idea whether I'm getting the 2013 model?

Also, I think my order has not gone into production yet, so I may be able to add the MFID. Is the option available to order wit the dealerships now?

Yes you should be able to add the MFID (6WB) if you're not in production yet and you're getting a 2013 model. Speak to your dealer. When did you place your order?

I'm actually placing it through Alphabet and placed it last week of May.

So the last update I had was that the order is currently with the dealership and they are looking for production slot. I'll give them a call 2mrw and chk which model year it is. I assume since the delivery date is 31st July, its has to be 13 model year.

Also, the MFID does not show up in the bmw uk online configurator yet.

Nothing here about Pro Nav being upgraded to new version though... Whether or not the CIC will change in July with MY2013 still seems to be being debated in other threads.

I'm guessing the reason for the change is so they can use the same panels in F10 and F30.

My 520d SE was ordered from my company's leasing partner on 31st May, with estimated stock date (I think this the same as dealer delivery date) of 30th July.

I don't think these changes will be in the configuratior until the end of July. My dealer sent me this information and an updated 2013MY quote at the end of May and my company placed the order first week of June. My non-confirmed delivery is beginning of August.

I would guess you are definitely 2013 model, but speak to your dealer.

My reading of the product bulletin is that all these changes will be effective week 27 July build ie all cars supplied from July so I would expect the new version of Pro Nav to be supplied. My contract shows ZMQ which is the July version.

I guess the issue might be that nowhere is there a connection stating that ZMQ (or ZMP or ZMB) has the new software but you would expect that the new software is the reason for the change.

But then again, with BMW, logic isn't their strong suit

MPH, i hope that is the case. I thought the package code change related to the change in options since the voice control is a standard option now, and the bluetooth with telematics has been renamed.

I guess there's no way to be sure until it gets delivered... Fingers crossed though.

Probably to streamline production process & component inventory as F20/25/3x all have 6.5" screens.
Maybe there'll be some cosmetic updates to the interface so that it matches the new navpro.

As an aside, my leasing company (Lex Autolease) had all the updates in their configurator by the end of May, so although BMW aren't showing the changes in their configurator, leasing companies probably are.

Makes all sense from an economies of scale point of view. Thanks!

Final word from my dealer after checking with BMW Product team, the MFID is NOT available with the HUD regardless of what their own information says....

This looks fantastic!

Anyone know if the new instrument cluster is able to switch between MPH and KMH readouts? Or for UK spec, is it a dual speedo readout with MPH in the outer ring?
