Twin Turbo Lamborghini runs my e85 GTR

Some cool video of a Twin Turbo Gallardo on MS109 vs my Stock Turbo GTR on e85. Runs are done without any Launch Control.

The GTR does a number of things really well, which in combination make it "faster than it should be" with any given peak AWHP #

1. Area under the power curve. It makes a lot of power early, and holds it to redline. It's all in the curve
2. Very, very quick shifts.
3. It does not come off boost during shifts
4. Ability to run tight gear ratios secondary to #2 and #3

From a 60 mph roll, some of these advantages are partially lost, and the 740 AWHP (same dyno) GTT will begin to pull on the 585 AWHP GTR.

The Lamborghini V10 sounds sooooooo s*ck!!!!!!!! Music to ears. What an exciting car. An amazing monster not geared for 1/4 mile racing. The shifts in the 6 speed are also slow in Gallardo with distinct gaps between shifts and for some reason he always shifts below 8000 rpm.

p.s. The Gallardo's gearing is too tall for 1/4 mile (check its final drive and gear ratios). Lamborghini addressed it in the LP570-4 and LP560-4 with shorter final drive where the torque multiplication through gearing truly takes advantage of the 8400 rpm redline and capable of running 11.1 - 11.3 seconds stock at ground elevation.

However, on the highway over 150+ mph is where its taller gearing of that twin turbo Gallardo will truly show its power.

E85 is an easy way to up the compression out the wazoo, but have fun dealing with failed seals left and right. Ethanol eats through that stuff like nothing. Really hope you changed out certain components with more ethanol-resistant stuff.

Not really accurate ..I think you are referring to other fuels. Regular 93 octane pump gas has 10% ethanol. E85 is 70-85% ethanol. Most modern cars can handle the e85 without issue as long as your fuel system can flow enough.

I was able to gain about 20 AWHP and 35 AWTQ on e85 vs 93 pump gas.

Here is my Dyno .. E85 vs 93

I regularly work on newer F4i engines running E85 for Formula SAE and they simply will not last with standard seals and such. E85 is about as corrosive as stomach acid. Cylinder linings, seals, various components of the fuel system, etc. All get worn away by E85. It's not going to happen right away, but it will happen over time. You'll notice a loss in performance initially, and then things will progressively get worse. It's not about flow issues; it's about corrosion.

My boss at work has 20 years experience building race engines for a variety of leagues, and the first thing he asked when I mentioned our team ran E85 is if we'd replaced the relevant components to make sure the engine lasted.

Edit: Not debating the advantages of E85. We run it because of the fact that it's virtually impossible to knock with this stuff. However, it does present problems that much be addressed.
