Glad to hear it for you! Seems like it took forever, huh? Mine is still in the shop. I decided to wait until I was going in for the "fix" to go ahead and hit 'em with my "nit-pick" list of items I wanted them to address. So, they'll end up having it a bit over a week.

Can I ask what the "nit pick" list included? I will receive my car Monday. Thanks.

Sure. Here you go -

1. A/C Max not blowing strong
2. A/C (in general) not all that cool
3. Musty odor when running A/C
4. Ventilated seats don’t blow as forcibly as they did when car was purchased (and hence don’t cool as much)
5. Transmission is hesitant at 10-15 mph - can't decide which gear it wants to be in - sort of jumps/hesitates (you'll find this problem in other forums).

That's it in a nutshell -

I have decided (probably misplaced suggestive paranoia) to have my local German tech look at my front end for a pull to the left oddly enough. After checking my VIN the software update is not in the German system that he access for updates. I will be bringing some various supportive evidence from this forum and others.

Appointment is for September 27th, I will let you know what they do here.

Cool, let us know how you make out. I did the exact same thing...I waited until the 'fix' to let them know about other small issues I was having. My nit pick items were a rattle in the dash, ripped rubber flaps near the front tires, and a scratch that I wanted buffed out.

Tetiker: I believe mine was a software fix only. I'll double check the invoice, but I don't belive any other adjustments were made.

This may be obvious, and jc031662, this is probably not the issue with your car. But for others, I'll throw this out:

I find that the F10's handling is, in general, very sensitive to proper tire inflation (more sensitive than other cars I've had). Also, I've found that the F10 is more sensitive to road crown that was my E39, especially if tire inflation is low. My car was pulling to the right. I checked tire inflation and all my tires were about 4 or 5 psi under spec. I inflated the tires properly and sensitivity to road crown was significantly reduced. Also, the car was also easier to keep straight on the highway. I then reduced the inflation in the left tires to 1 psi under spec (to compensate for normal road crown) and now the car tracks very straight.

Has anyone else had the dealer adjust the camber on the front and rear wheels.

My car looked out of whack and now is better.

However, the car still "wanders" on highways. Kind of like an early 1990s Buick.

Just to be sure, I checked the pressure in all the tires and they were right on the money... I wish that was it!

) - sorry I'm not all that great of a cameraman. Unfortunately, the video doesn't show the full severity of the pull, but I think it's still recognizable.

The bottom line on the "fix" is this: in my opinion it's no fix at all - at least not a real one, rather just one to appease us poor slobs who ended up with these cars with the defective EPS units - and it's also an attempt by BMW to deal with the issue quickly and quietly, wiping the egg off their face to be certain that their image/reputation is not marred by this problem. After talking with the people at my dealership, the general assumption is that BMW may in fact know that the EPS unit is bad in these cars, but due to the cost of replacing lord knows how many that are defective, they are instructing the dealers ONLY to do this fix. I'm going to take my car back and tell them this ain't gonna fly and to escalate it up the food chain. I want a new EPS. If that doesn't happen, I'll let my attorney take over and he can sue whomever the hell he wants - but it won't be for an EPS - it will be for a heck of a lot more.

For what it's worth, I've attached the page of my work order that deals with the so-called fix. There are some codes I highlighted that may/may not mean something (Defect Code 3200029700 and some labor operation codes). Oh - btw, don't go in with a full tank of gas if you're getting the fuel gauge recall done - they'll drain about half - and if they're like my dealer, they won't fill it back up.

Sorry for the attitude - just thought this crap would have been over now...
man...sorry to hear. This makes me second guess my decision to concede so early. But based on your video, yours is much worse than mine. I've come to the conclusion that my car is VERY sensitive to the crown in the road. But honestly, I feel the same way you do...I don't think this has been a true fix. I think my car still has issues. But I guess I'm at a point now where it's not too bad...and I'm tired of fighting with BMW.

I am not sure if this is a stupid question to ask or not, given that September builds potentially are still not delivered to their eventual owners; but are there any signs that this issue is still there on the September builds?

I wonder if the 6-week delay in the builds were related to this (or some other) problem that they ran into, as it covers more than the time needed to retool the factory.

Any thoughts or information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not certain about this - just a guess - but I believe they solved the problem on subsequent builds a while back. I know that my dealer has not received any further F10s with the pull problem since late August. I suspect that the EPS system was modified and all new builds were lucky enough to get it - and not the the pull problem. But, this is just an uneducated guess...

Thank you. At least the feedback mechanism seems to be working if that indeed is the case. However, as one of the globally recognized leaders in the industry, I am sure we all agree that they need to serve the needs of the customers who have their cars delievred before the fix. And I am sure they will do that at some point in time.

I still would strongly suggest that folks test drive their vehicles before signing them over. It is your right.

Not really JC. For me, I got used to this. It's practically non-existent, if I drive in a certain way, which is not troublesome at all. I used to drive with one hand on the wheel but now I rarely do that.

Anyone with ED- Did your F10 pull to the right?

I wonder if any member noticed this issue during their trip for European Delivery? I am planning one and wonder what to do and where to report this "pulling" problem if it occurs?

I have the same problem, the car pulls to the right. I'm from Spain. My car has 2 months in the workshop of the dealer and have not yet fixed. They put the software but the problem remains the same. Unbelievable but true ...

I had it on my Ed in august. In fact, I video taped while driving to Paris (along with my broken speedometer)
I called BMW, who directed me to mondial. They did nothing. Finally bmwna put me in touch with Paris BMW, scheduling an appointment the following day. When I showed up, they wouldn't even look at it.
Ultimately, I just had to live with it during the trip. The car is now at the VDC in new jersey, being repaired (actually waiting for a "backordered" part)
As for your ED, I'd check it as soon as I drive out of the welt, and have the address of the Munich dealer handy.

bfv, as I indicated in my earlier post, I am tryin gto figure out whether this issue is still seen in the September builds or not. So if you can post your experience (assuming yours will be post September ), it would be much appreciated.

What build was the car that is having the problem in Spain?

It sorta says a lot about BMW that they're going to this kind of expense to fix it - this is not cheap!

It looks like this thread is winding down - I guess those who had the same problem have found resolution and are content. Good deal.
Actually still have the problem after they adjusted the strut. I didn't get the software update though. Just dropped off my car at a different dealer to see if they can find the problem.

Another annoying problem that I have is when I start to drive on cold starts and turn the wheel I get what best described as a farting/rubbing type noise from the front. Can't really tell if it's coming from the strut/shock. Very noticeable but for some reason not as bad when the car is warmed up.

Other dealer doesn't couldn't find anything but hopefully the dealer I dropped it off to today can fix and solve the problem.

Anyone else get this funky sound on their car?
