I am 34k miles in, and 18 months to my 535d MSport, and agree, its the best car I have ever owned. Had one of the original Alpina D3's which I loved, but this car is a different breed to that one.

Not loaded with options because I dont really need them. It has the pro nav, and the Sport + pack, thats it.

For me, cars are for driving, and I am happy with what it has given that it was bought in a rush.

The sports gearbox would have been nice, but I probably would never use it.

Had a 3 series for a day as a courtesy car, the difference in refinement is very noticeable!

There's been a lot of negative comment on the F10/F11 over the years, but have to agree, these cars are very good. I rate my F11 as the best car I've owned. Includes more driver satisfaction from it, than the E39.

I believe the sales volume through the production period proves the point.

I had an X5 loaner for two weeks which had the latest iDrive and I hated it. 'Tile' menu is harder to navigate and less clear, touchscreen is pointless and every time you brush the top of the scroll button, it thinks your trying to write on it and it changes the screen.

Just turned through 4.5k now, did 300 miles in her yesterday, got out both ends fresh as a daisy, returned 49.7mpg for the trip, and that included the M25 being shut on the way home and having to divert inside the 25, which was a little static as well.

Such an awesome car. Having had 2 520d's before this, I wondered whether going to 535d was necessary, but when this car came up new at such a great price, I thought it was worth a punt. Now, 4 months in, with low road tax, mpg the same if not better (39mpg over the whole 4.5k vs 40mpg in 45k in the 520d), the creaminess of the 6 cylinder is definitely worth it for the added oomph when you fancy a blast and boy does it build speed - wow!
