Cost to swap mufflers??
How much are you guys paying to have new mufflers installed?
I just got a quote from my local custom exhaust shop for $250 bucks. The place came highly recommended but as soon as he asked me what kind of car it was I felt like I was screwed... Can any old muffler shop install f10 M5 mufflers on a 535 or should I pay more and go with the shop that specializes in custom work??

Well these are "nice" cars so people do charge more but as long as their work matches up. I think most muffler shops are able to do this job. Its about cutting the pipe after the axle; installing new mufflers, welding the pipes and adjust the mounts to they are secure. Overall $250 isn't that. Try to bargain with them down to $200. |

I paid $140+$20 tip to my exhaust guy. For the price I paid he did the following:
1. made new piping from the axle to the new mufflers 2. I had him cut all 4 tips off the mufflers to extend them to stick out where I wanted them. 3. He made new hanger brackets |

Thanks guys. I do live in the northeast where labor always seems to cost more, but this has me wanting to shop around a bit more.
The mufflers didn't arrive today, probably due to the storm, so I have time to sort this out tomorrow.

Thanks man. I went to a shop in town that installed the exhaust on my wife's 4Runner and they quoted me 2 hours max with an hourly rate is $100 bucks. I think I am going to use them and just wait there while the work is done. That way I can keep an eye on the fitment...and my watch.
