Can we run without TPMS in a 2012 535?
My brother bought my 2012 535 from me when I found my 2012 550.
He's found a nice used winter wheel/tire package from a 650i. Would there be any issues if these wheels don't have compatible TPMS sensors? I'm sure he'll get a dash light, but would cruise/sport button/etc still function normal or would the nannies get angry? Seems like he's getting a $1500 set for $500, so its tempting... but if he needs to buy $200 in sensors and spends another $150 getting them installed, suddenly its not such a good deal! Thanks! |

Unless the car has been coded, the TPMS malfunction warning will pop up constantly. It's super annoying and will interrupt whatever is on your idrive screen. Without pressing 'ok', it'll go away but will reappear within minutes. If he wants to save money, just get the stock TPMS swapped over. $150...done.
