Vacuum Control Question

Hey all,

New 550i M-Sport Owner here. Slowly starting to mod (just installed M5-Style Grilles & a High Kick Trunk Spoiler), now trying to decide if I'm wanting to go the exhaust route or wheels/tires & lowering route.

The question regarding the stock M-Sport Exhaust... What is everyone doing with their vacuum control hose when they put an exhaust on? Especially regarding the route of a muffler delete - Is everyone just zip-tieing the hoses off and stuffing them in the back bumper? If so, will that throw any kind of code? Just a little confused as I haven't seen any answers within the forums.

All the best,

Logan

My understanding is they plug it with a golf tee and secure it somewhere.

S1, I know a lot of 3 series owner's were doing that... Just not sure if us 5er's were. Any idea if that will throw any codes?

I can't imagine it throwing a code unless it sprang a leak. Think about it. It's a sealed system. As long as it stays sealed, it's happy.

You have to plug it with something. I left mine open in my 528i and the car drove so bad, once i plug it back as stock, it drove perfect.
