Wow, I'm blown away. I'm about to pull the trigger on a 550i, and I thought I had completely beaten the mod bug, but your posts have my wheels turning again.

Could you buy M5 on the money you got this 550 + mods? I know it wont replace that personalization and expression of yourself with this 550, and I totally love the look, but hey, m5 gives different feelings
+ you put M badge on the back, replacing 550. M wanna be?

if you want to do the easy way, just pop it off the roof and work on it, it just hold down on double side tape that's all. there's a DIY youtube video from some member in the forum on DIY section, search it there.

Well, at this point is no going back so M5 would be out of the question. I can get a used M5 at this time for fairly cheap, but I've started the project so I'm gonna finish it, but that's the fun and joy of modding your own car.

As far as the M badge, it's just a personal touch, not wanna be an M5 or anything, however I would NOT put an M5 badge on my car after I finish the M5 front end conversion though. That would look hideous..

Finally everything come together, most of the bracket and spacer that I've order from BMW parts were not use, due to my Msport front end supported are the same as the M5. Wish I've know this, it would save me a lot of time and $$$. Any way, here's the update. Enjoys...

I think just running some spacers up front to get them flush will be fine... not sure what size tho? car Looks amazing!
