Is there any truth to removing the under-hood sound deadening material helping alleviate the heat that builds up under the hood? Somebody told me it basically acts as a blanket and just keeps more heat confined in an already hot engine compartment. I wouldn't do it while my car was under warranty but didn't know if that made sense to anyone else. I personally would love to hear more of the engine so that being gone would be irrelevant to me.

mine is off honestly anything to reduce that heat.. its there to take out the sound from engine mines loud as it is.

Taking my car in on Monday and getting a loaner. I told them if they give me a 320i, I'm leaving. Will ask they give me something from their used car lot.

Will mention transfer case as well as the metallic ticking noises.

Exactly! I am several BMW forums and this is the FIRST example of replacing Turbos I heard of. I'd really like to know "what/how they determined this"?

My SA told me there was excessive oil coming from around the seals and the turbo coolant pump was not pushing coolant . Sent pictures to BMW. Replaced both Turbos, oil feed line and turbo coolant pump. (As listed on my service ticket)

How do I know they really did the service recall to my vehicle? They returned my car to me within 36 hrs. I was driving the crap out of the loaner 328 they gave me so I hope they weren't ticked off (if they could somehow tell).

Just dropped mine off, they won't do my battery for free, wanted to charge me $770 for it, said since my car isn't under warranty they won't replace it. I called BMWNA and they said, the Battery isn't even in the Service Bulletin. Also, they said the timing belt is fine.

Car needs under recall:
Injectors,
Oil,
Vacuum hoses,
MAF Sensors,
Vent Lines,
Pressure Fuel Sensor,
lower oil internal to 12m/12,000 miles

It will take them three whole days to do they claim.

Battery is a separate bulletin and only for cars still covered by the BMW Maintenance Program.

Mine went in yesterday AM. Rec'd a 428i Gran Coupe M-Sport as a loaner. Nice little ride but I4 is no match for the big V8. It's small too. Smaller than the 3 Series to me, it feels like.
