BMS Stage 1

Ok popped it in although I bought a Stage 2... BMS advised against stage 2 and only install stage 1. Sucks... should have done more research.

So it's got a decent kick in 3,4,5,6 gear over stock. It seems though it's anemic in first and second. I thought that you guys had traction issues? Or is it slipping and cutting the power before I see the light turn on? I've got sumitomo 285 30 20s in the rear. I didn't think it was that meaty? Could the transmission be slipping and cutting power as well? I had that issue at stock power levels.

I have the same issue, where its going but when it gets into like 3rd it suddenly throws you back from the sudden power gain, right !?

Im not sure what it could be, happens to me all the time, it may be traction. When I brake boost in 2nd gear tho it goes no problem.

Do you have the stage 2 or stage 2 beta? I've had the stage 2 beta without any issues. I did not see them advising against stage 2on their official N63 thread. Where did you see this?

I don't have the new JB4, but an older Stage 2. Jon at Burger told me not to use it, because the newer JB4 is safer. I guess a few years ago, guys were blowing coils and such, throwing codes.

I have a JB4 Bluetooth adaptor that I haven't installed so I'll have to study up on it.

MavRick, yes, let's compare so we can see what's actually going on. I still maintain something happened with my car after it went to the dealer for service. I'm not sure if it had a different flash tune on the car other than Dinan.

Update:

Its weird, but its intermittent when I feel like I'm getting the full beans out of the tune... maybe I have a boost leak? Maybe the harness is loose?

BTW, these OBD2 wifi boost readers have to be incorrect... it's only showing 3psi and a lot of vacuum (-10)? Maybe the calibration is wrong and it's really 13psi?

Anyways, must have been on today... I secretly trolled a Mustang GT on the way to work....he was driving like an idiot, weaving and I was just in the hammer lane. He deemed it necessary to cut 3 lanes of traffic to get on my bumper... well that didnt take long to get him off! I heard him kicking down and I was GONE! He continued to weave through traffic and pass me when I pulled over to let him overtake.... great to start the day with a smile!

I can tell you looking at the data logs, DSC will intervene, close the throttle and open the waste gate even enough its not intervening enough to flash the traction lamp at you.

It's not your imagination.

The way the JB4 hijacks the TMAP boost signal prevents a valid OBD PID from being read out. One of many benefits of getting a proper DME Flash tune instead of a piggyback signal modifier.

So I'm wondering, if maybe if I turn DSC completely off and manage manually (big boy rules apply) I may get the full beans for first and second gear? I'm going to try that.... obviously gotta keep the but cheek sensitivity up for any yaw motion under launch!

Yes, you should. Sport-mode sharpened throttle response is reverted back to comfort throttle response when you turn DSC off though.
