F10 M-Sport Spotted
where I live in the UK is in the vicinity of the BMW GB HQ which means lots of their employees live in the area as well.
Once such employee was obviously picking up some food on the way home as me tonight. I grabbed some quick and really poor...sorry i was in a rush....iphone pics of the black F10 which I am 100% sure is the M-Sport. I did walk up and look at the interior and sure enough it had the two/tone seats and the relevant M-Sport logos on steering wheel etc. also I the front and rear bumper apron bodykit was exactly the same as the official BMW M-Sport pics on the BMW UK site.....rear bodykit looks identical almost to that on my current E92 M-Sport in fact. Now I must add here I have owned two E60 M-Sports and am currently driving an E92 330i so I am definitely a BMW fan. At this time I am one of the many I guess waiting to pull the trigger on an F10 M-Sport order but I am just waiting to see what they look like "in the metal". I loved the E60 (i had two of them so I better have liked it) M-Sport, the whole package had presence and stance and just looked "right" so I have been keenly waiting for the F10 M-Sport as I loved the SE I test drove. So I am in two minds as to what I feel now if the model I saw tonight was the production version then it just didn't do it for me, something just didn't look right. Pretty sure the car I saw was on 18" wheels but it just looked awkward. Ok I didn't spend too long (wife and kid waiting for shopping) but normally a car grabs me in seconds and this one just didn't. It looked like it was sitting on roller skate wheels (sorry if anyone on here has ordered the 18" wheels but if the wheels in these pics are the std production ones I would change your order...now). Something about the bodykit just didn't seem to blend with the rest of it. With the E60 M-Sport everything looked right. I am hoping I just need to see another one in maybe a different colour when the dealer has one in...or maybe the 19" wheels will complete the look...or maybe the touring....not sure...all I know is that for now I might be faced with having to re-think the new car purchase and go look elsewhere....damn I hope it looks right on the bigger wheels. |

Good work my friend. It certainly does appear to be the M-Sport model. I have to say this is the first picture with those 18" style 350M alloys - they look awful. The car must look so different with the 19" 351M alloys.
Also, the MSport is almost certainly understated/conservative. However, that seems to be a BMW tradition over the last few years leaving the only the actual M Models to show some aggression. I have an F10 530d M Sport on order, stay tuned for pics and then decide whether you feel more certain. I think by the end of October this forum will be filled M Sport pics - so just hold your fire for now if you have lingering doubts! |

if I was a cynical man I would say BMW deliberately send out these pre-release car's on the 18" wheels to make us all order the 19"'s
my last E60 M-sport had 19" wheels as does my current E92...the cars just look right on those wheels, arches filled. this car tonight looked like it was still fitted with the transit suspension blocks still fitted there was so much gap between the tyres and the body work...not sporty at all. again....really sorry to anyone who likes or is getting the 18's...no offence just my personal preference. I like cars with big wheels...you'd think at my age i'd have grown out of that by now.....dealer said their demo with have 19" wheels so will go see that...also hoping to see a touring m-sport with the 19"s as am leaning towards a 530d M-Sport touring. |

...forgot to say...reason I spotted it as an M-Sport (apart from wheels) was the front spoiler. classic BMW M-Sport spoiler. large air intakes and exactly same as the pics on bmwblog.com and the thread on here that showed the M-Sport car displayed at the Goodwood festival of speed.

It sure looks like the suspension still has the transport blocks in it. There's way too much gap between the tires and the fenders and the wheel camber just doesn't look right.

In the USA, $6500 for the M-Sport, that covers almost all the options I put on my car, there is about a $2000 difference, but I think that is due to the x model as the configutor is not up for RWD.
