ISTAP software update failure has bricked the car

Update using ISTAP, ICOM, Power source

Measures plan calculated, estimated duration 00.05.05. That struck me as very odd. Current integration level F01013-07-504, new -17-07-504.

I noticed programming failure right from the first ECU, followed in quick order by the rest. ZGM took a while and also failed. Integration level was marked as done though at the end of the session.

While on the ZGM I noticed terminal 15 had switched off. Pressed the start button, nothing. Let the software to continue then got a failure message and option to terminate. Terminated the session. Disconnected battery for over 2 hours

On reconnecting, No remote control access, comfort access dead, start button dead! A few minutes later some power came back on, comfort access back on. Start button seems to turn on some minor components (clicking noise in the engine bay) but cluster dead, cranking but not firing.

IstaP now asks for terminal 15 which seems is disables permanently, but allows continuation on selection of "ignition not available". It is unable to find VO and requests VO injection!

Any help and guidance will be appreciated. I am shocked dealer software can result in such catastrophic systems corruption.

Car is a friends so you can imagine my predicament.

I was using an MST-80 from China. It looks like it provides proper power. I did notice after that I could not use my ENET cable. My Ethernet adapter had defaulted to "obtain IP automatically" and would not change. I am not sure if that would have anything to do with it.

It is unbelievable that ISTAP can catastrophically mess up a vehicle like this. If that were the =case I doubt it would find its way anywhere near a dealers outlet.

It must be my installation or some configuration in my laptop that messed this up so bad!
