New (to me) Dinan 550xi

Hey all,

Picked up this 2011 550xi about a month ago. Saw dealer photos and noticed the carbon fiber so I went to check it out. Saw that it was lowered and had some Dinan parts. Took it out for a few hours and bought it that afternoon. Had 45k miles. Turns out it's a Dinan stage 4 car. So far happy with the power, but will likely jb4 it in a few months. Definitely the best mix of power and comfort. I've had a lot of fast cars, and while this isn't the fastest of them, it sure is quick. Usually love the manual cars, but this zf shifts fast enough ( almost as fast as the last dual clutch I had) and is great in traffic.

Has the reddish-brown interior, m-package, premium packages, rear entertainment (which is already dated), and some other fixins.

Feel like I got a decent deal at 31k out the door, considering all the Dinan parts.

Here are a few pics

See you all around

Nice score! $31k? Wow, the exhaust alone is $3k retail! Looks great! I like that color combo!

It seems the base level of all the essential mods are ready to go. I regret not searching harder before buying mine for a Dinan car.

CONGRATS! only issue i would have is you have no idea how the previous owner drove the car and what not nice to have all the included upgrades but i would request a history of maintenance to see if everything had to be done since the upgrades. from my point of view if i had tuning mods i would have been driving that car like i stole it!

I have the full maintenance history for it fortunately, including when it got tuned and when the customer care package was installed. Dealer also put in a 2 year powertrain warranty, but it's dealer specific.

This is my third BMW. I had a 97 M3 (4door 5 speed) and a 2007 335i. I'm semi comfortable working on these engines. I had to tear down the M3 and do the internal timing tensioners, which meant the cams had to come out.

The 335i we built up pretty good in terms of power, so got comfortable replacing things like intercooler, turbos, water pump, coils, etc. Not that I want to do any of that again, but the issues on this motor scare me a little less because I think I could fix most of them.

I'm assuming the previous owner drove it hard, but I'm fine with that. From my experience you can do just as much damage babying these things. I'm going to change the oil at shorter intervals though to be safe.

Congrats, looks great, and pretty good deal too.
It's great that you have knowledge/confidence to work on them yourself.

Very nice!

I bought my 550i (rwd) in Bend, OR (in January) from a chrysler/jeep/dodge dealer (original owner traded it in for a 4wd vehicle)

But it was originally purchased at Kuni BMW

Any other plans for mods?

Man, what a nice looking car! With that ACS spoiler it's a (tanner) twin to mine almost.
I really need M rear bumper looks so much nicer.
Great looking car at a great price.

Any plans to do intercoolers and finish it up?
